What You Need to Know

Although Amazon Prime Day on October 8th and 9th has passed, scammers are still actively targeting people who have Amazon accounts or participated in the event. Posing as Amazon, these scammers continue to send phishing emails and text messages, attempting to steal account information or trick victims into making payments.

They often claim your account has expired, a recent order needs confirmation, or there’s an urgent issue with your account. By clicking on their links, you risk downloading dangerous malware like ransomware or keystroke loggers. It’s important to stay vigilant and avoid falling for these post-Prime Day scams.

What You Should Do

  • Watch for emails or text messages that claim they are from “Amazon” asking you for information or to click on something and avoid them.
  • Reach out to Amazon directly through the contact information on their official website if you have any concerns about potential Amazon “scam” attempts.
